Allison Randall Qualifies for 2012 Olympic Games
Former Morgan State track and field athlete Allison Randall qualified for the 2012 Olympic Games in the discus last weekend at the Miami Invitational, hosted by the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Fla.
Randall, who competed at Morgan State from 2006-2010, destroyed her Jamaican National Record with a throw of 61.21m. Her previous personal best was 56.51m during her first outing of the 2012 Outdoor Season.
The throw also surpassed the B-qualifying standard for the 2012 Olympic Games and is the 10th best throw in the World thus far for this season. Allison threw the 1kg discus pass her former best three times on Saturday with two throws going over 57 meters.
Randall graduated from MSU last spring with a BS in Physical Education. In addition, to her duties as a student athlete, she worked in the comptroller's office as an office assistant and was an Executive Board Member of the NCNW- MSU Section and USS Step Team.
